Description

shijie was a proficient martial artist. Earning a high degree belt in taekwando and karate at a young age, he was deemed a genius in the field by his peers. He won tournaments in inter highschool and national level tournaments and also a gold medal holder in the olympics.

His inspiration why he chose the sport came from karate and kung fu movies he watched as a kid.

Soon he grew confident with his skills making him think that he can take on a pro boxer in an exhibition match.

His opponent was the 3 division world champion Yuri "Gadyuka" Zielkov. Gadyuka was a russian word for viper. Mirroring yuri's razor sharp counter-punches, it was like a viper's venom that can subject its victim to a slow yet painful death.

Aside from that, he had this snapping jab and his devastating right cross.

His titles include wbc-wba  lightweight title, wbc light welterweight and the wbc-wbo welterweight title. With a record of 110-2-3 in amateur with 78 of those wins coming by knock out with 40 in first round. When he turned pro, his record was 34-0-2 with 28 knockouts, 15 way by first round.

Shijie, underestimating boxers as what from he seen in the movies where kung fu or other martial artists defeating boxers thought that this fight will be like a walk in the park. Thus, he disregards his opponent's record and videos.

Confidently, he stated that this fight will not last a single round.

He was right.

As he was downed twice at the first round by the pro boxer. At the start of the round, he  tries to hit yuri with a series of punches. Thinking that he will defeat the boxer in his own turf. Too bad, his punches were too predictable to yuri's trained eyes. Without the set up of jab, shijie's punches were nothing more than leads that begs to be countered.

Shijie's left cross was countered by an over the top hook. His right with a short uppercut. That made his legs stumble for a moment. Yuri then feints a left lead making shijie dodge while moving to his right. Bad move as  yuri's right hook was waiting there for him there clashing on his jaw. Giving him his first knockdown.

Slightly regaining his feet, shijie manages to get up before the ref finishes his count.

He tries to hit yuri's legs to ruin the boxer's balance. It works initially though yuri adjusts his rhythm to match shijie's as he steps in to hit his leg. Matching his step in with a step in slide followed with a left jab that can also be followed by any power punch.

shijie was still visibly hurt so he tries to keep a distance from the boxer. Too bad with yuri's footwork and his experience on "cutting the ring's distance", shijie always finds himself trapped in the ropes forcing him to clinch. With the ref breaks them apart multiple times, he warns shijie a penalty.

Once more shijie was trapped on the ropes and finds himself at the mercy of yuri's barrage of punches. He never felt this kind of punches before. It was compact yet it was heavy as hell. He tries to cover with his guard but only to be dropped when yuri hits him with a body shot in his ribcage. With his guard exposed, he was knocked down again with yuri's series of punches that are aimed on his face.

Rising up again before the count of ten, shijie grew desperate considering his earlier statement before the fight. He tries to hit yuri's face with a high kick.  Again, another wrong move. Though powerful yuri only saw his kick as nothing but a wide swing and counters it with a devastating overhand right. Sending shijie unconscious to the canvas.

There's no need for the the count as shijie's trainer throws the towel ending the fight.
